Senior Buyer

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Buyer. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing purchasing areas efficiently, ensuring quality, cost-effective sourcing, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This position requires effective collaboration with suppliers, negotiation skills, and a commitment to delivering the best products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned purchasing areas to support efficient and cost-effective operations.

  • Work directly with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards, adhering to purchasing policies.

  • Monitor and manage multiple suppliers, negotiate prices, and analyze inventory trends.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.

  • Place purchase orders, control inventory, and ensure appropriate stock levels.

  • Arrange and track the transport of goods, collaborating with warehouse teams for expedited receiving.

  • Assess stock quality, escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management.

  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Sales, and Engineering on sales events, new items, and product availability.

  • Research and evaluate potential new sources of supply, on-boarding new suppliers as needed.

  • Process requisitions and provide timely updates to management on order status.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years' experience as a buyer, replenishment re-buyer, or inventory planner.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills, experience in buying mechanical parts and with engineering drawings.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent follow-up/follow-through and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under limited supervision.

  • Overseas travel to China required for trade shows, company events, and supplier locations.

  • Automotive parts industry experience preferred.

  • Mandarin speaking is highly advantageous.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
